Knitting In The Round

Good Afternoon!! Again, it's been more than a week since I posted ... must be all the Christmas rush making time fly by. I am now done all the knitting projects I wanted to get done for Christmas gifts. I knit two pairs of bug mitts and a pair of fingerless gloves for my niece and nephews. I am not going to post pictures in case my sister happens to visit here! I absolutely love how the fingerless gloves turned out and am thinking I will make myself a pair over the holidays.

I have always disliked knitting in the round with 3 or 4 needles. I could never seem to get the joins to look good. They were either too tight or too loose. I had been hearing lately of using two circular knitting needles and found these directions. She has wonderful pictures and the instructions were easy to follow (at least for me LOL!). I have been designing a child's size sweater knit in one piece and when I came to the sleeves decided to give this technique a try. It works very well and I love how the joins look ... I can't even tell where they are!

The yarn for this sweater I bought off eBay from the JOJOLAND store. She has a wonderful selection of DK 100% wool and sock weight 100% wool. This sweater is in colour M10 and uses the yarn doubled. The baby booties that I felted (see previous post) use this yarn as well but in a different colour.

Kimberly, I will post a picture when our power is restored. We have been without power since Thursday night and it is not expected to be back on until at least Friday and maybe later.
Cheryl :-)
